Urban & Nature Session with Senior Model Rep, Lordes
I was so excited when Lordes joined my Senior Model Rep team. I could not wait to photograph her with her guitar and her long, dark hair. I was so excited and impressed to hear about her many talents: singer, guitar player and piano player! (I think we should add wonderful big sister to that list too.) At our consultation she told me that her father inspired her love of music at around 6 years old and used to play her Metallica songs, like "Nothing Else Matters! She grew up in the Philippines and also enjoys singing Filipino music, which she says "leads me back to home".
“He bought me my first guitar, which was pink, and he taught me how to read the music sheets/notes and he taught me how to feel music. After that I looked at music in a different way.”
Lordes wanted to have some variety with her session but expressed really wanting to be surrounded by nature. So we chose two locations that could give us the look and feel she wanted. I was aware that Lordes loves taking photos with friends and is probably used to being in the spotlight with her music, so I wasn't surprised that she was comfortable in front of the camera. However, she was so modest and sweet the entire time. I was touched that she wanted us to take a selfie together at the end of her shoot. It was a nice memory for me.
We shot on a warm summer day, but the golden sunset could not compete with her beautiful smile or outshine her spirit. Never stop playing and singing Lordes!

1. You're going on a road trip. A: Where are you going? B: What one person are you driving with? C: Which song is definitely on your playlist? D: What's your must have snack?:
A.) I would be going to California or New York if I was going on a road trip.
B.) Maddy Andrews would be one of the people I'd be driving with.
C.) Come on Eileen" would probably be one of the songs we'd be jamming to.
D.) Must have snack are dried mangoes (super yummy).
2. If you were putting on a concert for your school, which three bands/artists would you book?: I would definitely book Post Malone, Russ, and Bruno Mars :)
3. Movie you could watch over and over?: I could watch Perks of Being a Wallflower a million times!!
4. Tell us one stand out memory from your year so far.: When Sophia and Allesandra, my two little sisters, were born, they became the lights of my world:) They've definitely impacted my life in ways I could never imagine. I've been more appreciative and thankful for my family ever since. They've taught me how to care and love people with all my heart.
5. Dream job when you were a kid? Dream job now?: When I was little I wanted to be a princess (a girl can only dream:)
Now, I want to become a nurse practitioner and travel around the world to help kids in third-world countries.
6. What skill would you like to master?: I would love to master playing classical music on the piano.

9. What do you value most in a friend?: trust and always being there for each other
10. Favorite way to treat yourself?: Shopping, Shopping, Shopping :)
11. Tell us something about yourself that not everyone knows.: I love to read poetry. I think that the way words are used to describe the way people feel in numerous situations in our lives is beautiful. The way we communicate our thoughts to the world is amazing.
I try my very best to be passionate about everything that I do.
12. What would a world populated by clones of you be like?: It would be a crazier world filled with fun moments and a lot of music :)
13. For what reason did you last cry?: The thought that even though people have the freedom to love and care for one another, we choose to destroy and hurt people regardless.
14. What's the last thing that made you laugh?: My best friends saying things that make my heart happy :)
15. Name something you are proud of.: I am proud to be the friend that my friends go to for advice and tell secrets to. I feel like I try to build connections with everyone in my life. I like to think that I know a unique, unknown side of everyone in my life regarding their past or secret talents and such :)
16. What fictional place would you most like to visit?: A land of millions of different types of flowers :)
17. What is one of your favorites smells/scents?: I LOVE THE SMELL OF VANILLA OR BIRTHDAY CAKE CANDLES!!!
18. You are building a virtual time capsule commemorating your senior year. What 3 things would you include?:
1.) Driving around with my friends and feeling every moment with them.
2.) Having a routine dinner with my family. (It means the whole world to me :)
3.) Pictures of laughing with the people that I love the most.
19. Your advice for incoming freshman:: Don't be afraid to be yourself. You are defined by the way you treat everyone---the people that you won't like and the people that you love. Always remember that everything will be okay, and always keep your head up. Find friends that bring out the best in you, and spend more time with your family. Appreciate everyone that is in your life and be thankful for them. Live every second like it's your last; don't ever underestimate time. There's nothing that jamming to music and ice cream won't fix :)
20. What are your plans after graduation?: I will be going to nursing school to become an RN. I would like to continue my nursing career and become a nurse practitioner :)
